Top Gear Custom Course Studio

Draw a circuit, generate a random track, or import an image and build a raceable SNES course with its own minimap, scenery preset, hills, length, and lap count. Exported ROMs run single player, with the native computer opponent in the lower view. Your files stay on this computer.

Race setup

3 · Design the course

Changes the horizon, landscape and road palette. Select the course whose scenery you want to use.

Automatic adds a native refuelling pit for 3+ laps or 80+ total sections. The entrance is placed on a gentle approach. Computer pit guidance works at every course length. Steer onto its shoulder and release the accelerator to refuel.

Roadside objects use the preset's easy-difficulty layout. They can add hazards and pit entrances. Available with stock scenery. Generated scenery uses the road settings below.

4 · Road generation

Widths affect the rendered road and driving boundaries during the race. Native width profiles step through neighboring sizes. The layout repeats each lap; the scenery seed controls seeded variation. Roadside objects follow the road edge.

5 · Generate scenery

Combine environments: mountain towns, jungle coastlines, desert oases and more. The seed varies terrain, planting, architecture, landmarks and colors.

Signs mark turn approaches and follow the outside of bends, pointing left or right. Environment-specific trees, cacti, palms or streetlamps are placed beyond the shoulder. Signs remain enabled when scenery density is off.

The same seed and settings reproduce the same landscape. Saved projects include these settings.
